Domestic Short Hair - Maxwell - Small - Adult - Male - Cat
Maxwell lived among a small colony of feral cats but he was usually seen alone, sitting or sleeping on a porch stoop, waiting for a volunteer with food. The volunteers watched him as he always waited patiently for his food while rubbing against the railings and rolling over on the ground in a friendly gesture. The volunteers determined that he exhibited signs of once being domesticated, so they trapped him to and took him to the shelter in case someone was looking for their lost cat. Unfortunately no one claimed him. Maxwell is still adjusting to being a pet again. He is fine around women, but still frightened of men. He likes to be brushed and play with a feather toy on a cord. He meows and will lick food off your fingers or eat from the palm of your hand. He loves wet food and gets really excited when he hears the can open. Since he lived in a colony, he should have no trouble living with other cats. He is not finicky about food and has very tidy litter box manners. He would do well in a quite home so he can explore and investigate at his own speed. Once you gain his trust, he will steal your heart! He has bonded with another cat, Midori, and she protects and comforts him. They would love to find a home together.
