E.(lias) Ingraham & Company patented figure (8) eight case design ?IONIC? model 8-day time and strike (hours only) wall clock for sale. This late xxxx?s - xxxx clock appears to be almost original in all respects.
The 8-day running brass movement has been professionally serviced including complete disassembly, ultrasonically cleaned, pivot bushings installed as needed, reassembled and run for weeks to assure correct operation. The two (2) original mainsprings bearing a patent date of xxxx were of necessity replaced. (I have kept the old mainsprings if the new owner wishes to have them plus a copy of the actual patent). Clock strikes the hours (only) on a coiled wire gong.
The rosewood case was gently cleaned to retain the patina of over a hundred years and a quality wax applied. The case is in excellent condition with age commensurate wear. A torn and stained interior label proclaims an ?Elias Ingraham?s Patent December 3rd xxxx?. The upper bezel sags only slightly and retains the old bubbly glass. The dial shows about a 5% paint loss mostly around the center arbor and at the time winding arbor. Minor paint loss of the black background on the lower glass. The case measures 21-1/2? high x 13? wide x 3-1/2? deep. Comes with pendulum bob and correctly sized and name branded replacement key. Ready to hang in your office or den and enjoy for the next 100 years. More pictures available.
